Recovering Theme in Windows 8


Long time ago a friend called me because suddenly her Windows 8 screen just got black.

It happens when you change the theme of Windows, this can be done by going to 'Start' screen and type 'personalization' and select this feature.

Then you choose a different theme if you don't like the black one.

For example, you can select the default theme, this one will give the usual Windows look and feel.

Default theme without dark colors

You have to be aware of the shortcut that Windows has to change the contrast of the theme, if you press Shift + Alt + Print Screen buttons the theme is going to change to a black one. If don't want to follow the steps before just press the same buttons to undo the change.

Turn Horizontal Visio Swimlanes into Vertical Ones

In one ocassion, a friend at work called me because she had a problem with Microsoft Visio , she was trying to draw a process flowchat but using swimlanes, this was not a problem until she realized that it would be better to use vertical swimlanes instead of horizontal ones.    But, when she tried to drag a vertical one it just put together to the previous swimlanes created before.  To avoid creating a new visio document and lost your work just go to 'Cross-Functional Flowchart' ribbon and select 'Orientation' and 'Vertical'.     And it's done, now you can work with vertical swimlanes or if you like it you can turn them back to horizontal ones.

Case: You try to install TWRP Recovery in your Xiaomi Redmi 6A, but the official process doesn't work.
