Unbrick or Recover Xiaomi Redmi 10A and other MTK devices

Case: Your Redmi 10A (probably other MTK devices too) is not turning on and doesn't react to any button pressed nor cable connection. Requisites:   Dead phone USB Cable  You tried tons of tutorials to unbrick the phone and didn't work This image Willingness to even use Linux to fix it (it's not hard) Steps: Create a bootable USB using the image downloaded. Make sure your computer allows booting from USB. Boot the computer from the bootable USB. When booting, a list of options will be shown. Pick the first one: Boot Live system. Once the system is loaded, go to the right-upper corner to connect to Wi-Fi. Once you have internet, use the Firefox browser (click on the icon in the left-upper corner) and download the Linux version of this tool (SP Flash) and save it in the desktop. Unzip the tool downloaded. Download the fastboot version of the stock ROM . Unzip the ROM, to have the folder and files. Click on 'MTK' icon that is in the desktop. In the command line opene

Tracing Excel Cell Precedents

When we talk about functions in Excel, sometimes they are quite easy to understand what cells are used in them, but I faced situations where complex functions are too complicated to understand them with a view. It is the opportunity to use one useful Excel feature which have helped me a lot at work. Let's consider a function which use cells from another sheet. The first thing is to select the cell to be evaluated, in this case is in the C column. Once you are there, select the tab "Formulas" and inside this click on the "Trace precedents" item. This will show an arrow indicating that the selected cell requires data from another cell located in another sheet, to go to this cell you just have to double click on the arrow. With the double click Excel will show a dialog giving you the list of Excel sheets that the cell we are reviewing use for its calculation, select the sheet you want to go to and press "OK". Keeping Last Page You Saw in Adobe Reader

When you are with a pdf file, and you star reading it, you can notice that it's sometimes not possible to read all pages, so you decide to stop at certain point and close it to continue another time. But, at the moment I needed this I realized that Adobe Reader didn't keep the last page I had read, therefore I had to pass through the pages until find the one I had reached before. To avoid this situation, there's an option in the application that will help you with that.   Once you are in "Preferences" windows, put yourself on "Documents" section and check the "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" square, and press "OK" button. With this, the next time you open a file you will appear at the last page you have read, able to continue.

How to Use PC Inspector File Recovery

When I have problems with files missed in my PC I always use PC Inspector File Recovery to recover these files. But, from my point of view, it's not so easy to use, but with the steps shown here you will be able to use it with no problems. When you run the application, the first thing to do is to select the language you are going to use, remember tu execute with administrator credentials .   Close the window showed after selecting the language.   Once you have done that, select the "search" icon located at first place in the left panel. With this, the application will show a dialog where you have to select the "Physical drive" tab to force the program to find any logical drives. Searching Text Inside Files

Many times I have faced a situation where I had to find which Excel files have inside them a specific code, and that meant I had to open all Excel files (more than 30) to look at inside if the code was there. For these opportunities it's very useful to use a Windows 7 characteristic which allows you to find inside all the Excel files that are within a folder. Honestly, I haven't proved if it works with any kind of files. As I explained before, the aim of these procedure is to find what Excel files have a code inside, considering that we are just looking for the files contained in a particular folder. First you have to select the folder you know files inside have the code you are looking for, after that in the text box located at the right corner type the code and press "Enter", you will notice that explorer shows a message pointing that there was not successful results ("No items match your search"), this is because no files have a name like the code you

Installing SQL Server 2008 Without Rebooting

When I realized that I needed it SQL Server Management Studio 2008 to explore my new databases I got the installer and proceed with the installation. But this installer made some validations before its execution, and the "Restart computer" item was not checked.   Well, all you have to do in this case is reboot your computer, but in my case I was with a lot of documents, applications and rebooting was not an option, therefore I had to simulated this action by modifying the register, the trick here is to change the name of the "PendingFileRenameOperations" key which is located in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager".   Changing this key to another name will produce SQL Server installer to assume that your computer was rebooted allowing you to continue with the installation, after installing it you have to change back the name of the key.

Paging in Word

Actually, giving your pages a number in Word is very easy and probably you know how to do it. In this case, I figured out that one of my documents where with a bad structure, just see the image and you will notice that the total of pages is incorrect because the document has more than one page.   To modify this situation it's necessary to edit the field which is responsible of showing the total of pages, you have to situate over the total and use the right click to show the menu, where you'll have to select "Edit Field...". This option will show a dialog where we are going to reset this counter by using the field "NumPages" and he can set some properties depending on our likes. And this is how the counter will show the reality of the document.
